GESGB Active Membership is intended for anyone who holds at least a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent from a recognised institute, college or university in any geoscience subject or similar. Other related subjects shall normally be eligible for Active Membership at the discretion of the Executive Council.

For those aged 27 years or younger, a discounted fee of £55.00 per annum can be accessed by emailing gesgb@ges-gb.org.uk.

GESGB Associate Membership is best suited to anyone who does not have the required academic qualifications but who has been actively engaged in any scientific, technical or commercial aspect of geoscience for at least one year. To apply for Associate Membership, you must provide 2 statements of recommendation from Active GESGB members, which will be reviewed by the Executive Council before the membership is accepted. Associate Members shall not vote or hold office.

Any Associate Member with at least one year’s GESGB membership and having been engaged in any scientific, technical or commercial aspect of energy exploration for at least 5 years, may be admitted to Active Membership at the discretion of the Executive Council.

GESGB Student Membership is applicable to anyone who is a full-time undergraduate student in any geoscience subject or similar. Students will be required to submit proof of their student status, which will be verified by the Membership & Database Officer before the membership is accepted.

Post-graduate students in these same subjects may choose between a Student and Active Membership type.
