What does it cost?

• £40 Active Membership

  • Any person who holds at least a Bachelor's degree or equivalent from a recognised institute, college or university in a science subject which is relevant to exploring for and producing hydrocarbons, such as, but not limited to, Geology, Geophysics, and related science or engineering subjects shall normally be eligible for Active Membership upon the discretion of the Executive Council.

    

• £40Associate Membership

  • Any person who does not have the required academic qualifications, but who has been actively engaged in any scientific, technical or commercial aspect of petroleum exploration for at least one year and who is sponsored by Active Members of the Society, shall normally be eligible for Associate Membership upon the discretion of the Executive Council. Any Associate Member having at least one year's membership of the PESGB and having been engaged in any scientific, technical or commercial aspect of petroleum exploration for at least 5 years, may be admitted to Active Membership at the discretion of the Council. Associate members shall not vote or hold office.

    

• £20Student Membership

  • Any person who is a full-time undergraduate student of the subjects mentioned in Section 1, and who expresses an interest in petroleum exploration, shall normally be eligible for Student Membership of the Society upon confirmation in writing by the Student's Professor of his or her status, and upon the discretion of the Executive Council. Post-graduate students in these same subjects may opt for Student or Active Membership.

    

Membership Year

All membership runs from 1st January to 31st December and renewals are sent out in January.

However if you join in the last three months of the year, your membership payment will include the remaining months of the current year and all of the following year.

Membership Renewal

Renewal forms are sent out in January. Members can return the form with cheque or credit card details or renew online. Members are allowed 4 months to renew, if you have not renewed by end of April your membership will be automatically lapsed. Alternatively, you can pay your membership by direct debit. This will make it easier for you and for us. If you would like to set up a direct debit please fill out and return the form. If for some reason you do not have a copy of the renewal form please use the one on this site.
