An informal lunch meeting held in Aberdeen, jointly organised by the AAPG and PESGB to discuss current UK exploration business and related topics.
The Corona Ridge, West of Shetland: an under-explored intrabasinal high
With Iain Bartholomew, Siccar Point
The Corona Ridge is situated north of Schiehallion and runs along the UK-Faroes boundary. It contains the Rosebank Oil Field in the northern end and Cambo Oil Field at its southern end. It is surrounded by deep basins with mature source rock and has material exploration potential in plays ranging from Lewisian basement to Tertiary sequences. Recently reprocessed 3D seismic and an improved understanding of regional igneous geology is enabling a portfolio of exploration prospects to be generated in the area.
A buffet lunch will be served at 12 noon, presentation starts at 12:15 and the event will conclude by 13:30.
The third of these informal lunch meetings for 2017 is kindly being sponsored by Siccar Point
