Bid Rounds – A Global Roundup In 2018/19

A roundup of global bid rounds over the last 18 months. A statistical analysis showing area, awards, distribution, location and situation of bid rounds, as well as an overview of the terms and conditions of selected rounds. Significant trends and observations are also identified across the global distribution of exploration blocks recently on offer.

Mark Elliston – Economist

Mark has 30+ years experience in the upstream oil and gas industry. He graduated from the Australian National University and has worked as a petroleum geologist, oil and gas analyst and economics consultant. He joined Drillinginfo International (DII) in 2013 as Economist Director with a remit to cover above ground commercial risk in the international arena. While with DII, Mark has primarily concentrated on establishing an international fiscal regime database which details and tracks changes in upstream contractual terms, laws and regulations. He also heads up the weekly International Commercial Scout publication which tracks the main events occurring in the above ground risk space and which provides the basis of tracking fiscal changes worldwide.

 

Ailsa Gilbert – Senior Commercial Analyst

Ailsa Gilbert graduated from the University of Aberdeen in 2015 with a MSc in Integrated Petroleum Geoscience, following the completion of a BSc (Hons) in Geology from the University of St Andrews in 2012. She joined Drillinginfo in February 2017 as a member of the Africa team focusing on North Africa. Since July 2018 she has been Senior Analyst in the Commercial team. Prior to working at Drillinginfo, Ailsa worked as a Logging geologist for Baker Hughes.
