Objectives

Seismic velocities are integral to seismic processing and imaging, and the ability to obtain an accurate velocity model depends on the measurements available, the techniques used and the ability to constrain the model using a priori knowledge from different domains and at different scales. Ultimately, the accuracy of the velocity model impacts the reliability of structural interpretation, inversion for reservoir properties and decisions at the drill-bit.

The objective of the workshop is to share experiences, challenges, solutions and the latest technologies for the estimation of velocities in E&P workflows to ultimately help us reduce uncertainty in our understanding of the subsurface.
