Abstract

Ai-Faults interpretation from the real world

With Dr Mark Brownless, Geoteric

Geoteric have developed a comprehensive Ai toolkit. Initially we launched an Ai-fault interpretations system the combines machine learning with traditional interpreter workflows. The artificial intelligence techniques have been integrated with real world workflows to deliver data types that can be used to drive volume calculation and model workflows thus smoothing the geoscientist workflows. This technology has already been used to deliver tens of client projects since its release towards the end of 2019. We will present a number of case studies that illustrate the application and impact using a range of real world data sets.

Speaker Bio

Mark joined Geoteric in June 2018 from Schlumberger (SIS) where he was working on the Digital Platform DELFI and managing their senior Geoscience Advisor team. Prior to this, he was Head of Development Geoscience for BG-Group where he was responsible for Development Geoscience workflows, standards, technology, and development geoscience staff globally. This covered appraisal and development workflows for all BG-Group fields globally; carbonates to clastic; oil, gas and condensates; relatively small fields to extremely big fields.

Mark holds a PhD in Environmental Sciences from the University of East Anglia and a BSc in Geology with Geochemistry from the University of Manchester
