Neptune Energy – UK growth potential
With John Colleran, Director Exploration and Development UK
Set up in 2015 by Executive Chairman and founder Sam Laidlaw with private equity investors, Neptune Energy is an independent exploration and production company with a regional focus on the North Sea, North Africa and Asia Pacific. Our diverse, gas-weighted portfolio and deep industry expertise offer multiple opportunities for growth, both organically and via potential acquisition. Our vision is to become the world’s leading international independent exploration and production company. We are expanding our business globally to meet the oil and gas needs of the energy future.
The UK has a key role within the global Neptune portfolio. Neptune manages UK offshore oil and gas fields across the life cycle of E&P from our operational base in Aberdeen. Group strategy is coordinated in London at our global headquarters. Neptune has interests in multiple licences in the UK. We operate the Cygnus gas field, the UK’s largest single producing gas field, which supplies the equivalent of 1.5 million homes. The Seagull oil and gas development project is planned to come onstream in 2021, providing long-term growth in the UK portfolio. Exploration activity is ongoing with busy programmes in the SNS and CNS. Growth potential in the UK is exciting with licence round activity together with selective M&A to maintain a long-life, low-cost business.
