The Future of Energy Onshore UK Capable of Assisting a Successful Transition
The event is designed to incorporate all aspects of potential energy onshore UK including both current traditional hydrocarbon aspects of past, existing and potential future production as part of the UK’s energy mix, as well as in relation to an ‘achievable’ Energy Transition Plan.
The idea is to recap on where oil and gas is and where it can integrate with alternatives, which can complement and develop to become affordable solutions in an energy mix. We aim to include a review of the resource plays which have substantial natural gas potential (lower carbon). We are working on a programme to include onshore wind, geothermal and indeed nuclear, if the UK is to have more energy security especially in light of the conflict in Eastern Europe.
It is hoped that this event will not only appeal to the traditional members of the PESGB but also potential new audiences which are involved in the ‘Energy Extraction / Generation’ sector. In turn, this might also lead to new sectors of membership as the energy transition progresses and our society evolves in “the new normal”.
