PESGB is pleased to inform members that the second meeting of the new UK Onshore Exploration Special Interest Group will take place as follows:

Date & Time: Tuesday 1st May 2018, 6.30pm

Nearest tube: Farringdon

Ian Roche of Aurora Energy Resources, currently engaged in seeking Planning Consent for drilling in Lancashire, has kindly agreed to present a talk titled “Formby: The Once and Future Oilfield?” at this meeting and Aurora are also very generously sponsoring the meeting by funding the provision of food and some refreshments.

Following discussions at the inaugural meeting of the UK Onshore Exploration SIG in January, it is intended that this group should provide a semi-formal forum for members currently engaged, formerly engaged, or just interested in UK Onshore exploration to meet on a quarterly basis to exchange ideas/experiences and discuss developing techniques applicable to land-based exploration.  It is anticipated and hoped that this should also interest members engaged in landward exploration elsewhere and so attract them to attend meetings also.

We are in the process of establishing a Steering Committee comprising a number of members who have already expressed an interest in joining, which will have the task of organising future meetings and managing the ongoing development of the group.  If any member who hasn’t yet volunteered would like to assist in helping to run this new group, please contact Ben King at PESGB or Jerry Field (jerry.field@egdon-resources.com).

Please feel free to distribute this announcement to fellow members within your organisation or elsewhere who may be interested in attending this or, indeed, any future meeting.

With thanks to the event sponsor
