It was with much personal sadness that the PESGB team and Council heard that Aidan Joy, our Vice President and Co-Chair of our Energy Transition SIG, had died suddenly last week.
Aidan was a much-loved member of PESGB who commanded a lot of respect from both the members and wider community. His drive and energy in repositioning our organisation (and indeed the industry) for the energy transition was an incredible force for good.
Aidan made a strong effort to stay connected with those he had previously worked with within the industry and at university, in the UK, and on the international scene. He was a popular individual within the membership, with a great sense of humour, and we recognise that he will be missed by many of you.
The PESGB Council has been grateful for the wise advice that Aidan provided, and his legacy will live on, as we carry on the plans that he was an important part of pulling together.
His family are all very much in our thoughts at this very sad time.
