Membership Intern

Job Purpose: Working as an integral part of the PESGB team, the role of Membership Intern is primarily to support the work of the Membership Officer in maintaining the Membership. As a society the sustainable growth of the membership is paramount to our success and financial security.

Job Objective: To play a major role in maintaining the membership database and dealing with member queries. To support the Membership communications, events and member benefits through the Membership CRM in the first instance. Supporting the Membership Officer to deliver initiatives that enhance the member ‘offer’ and allow the PESGB to grow.

Reports to: Executive Director

Responsibilities
• Working directly with the Membership Officer to handle member queries and maintain an accurate and effective database.

• Complete all relevant administration for the membership using email, document and planning templates

• Assist with communications and marketing to ensure an exciting and consistent message, making use of website, email campaigns, social media, and printed materials

• Work within the set budget, always looking for ways to add value but not additional costs.

• Participate in member events including site set up and registration. These can be onsite or offsite.

• Work with the Membership Officer to ensure the minimum benefit entitlement of each member is actioned, that the members expectations are met and exceeded where possible.

• Compile feedback from members on topics directed by the Membership Officer in order to provide a resource for PESGB in decision making regarding the membership.

• Recording and manipulating data / contact information on spreadsheets and CRM

• Undertake all other reasonable duties as required by the organisation.

Experience, Skills and Aptitudes

• Previous experience in and or Degree Qualification in a related subject.

• Ability to work to deadlines, with attention to detail and a positive outlook.

• Excellent written English, Maths and oral communication skills

• Excellent organisational skills, and a knowledge of the relevant online tools to facilitate this.

• The capacity to see a project (in all its detail) to completion, with both follow up and review

• A self-motivated individual who can work with limited supervision and often under pressure.

• Computer literate with at intermediate experience of the Microsoft suite of programmes, particularly Word, Excel and PowerPoint

• Experience of marketing events through social media

• Problem-solving and good analytical skills

• Flexibility and Adaptability

• Keen attention to detail

• Previous experience of Infusionsoft CRM system would prove useful.

Availability

The job holder will be expected to be able to travel, and spend nights away from home while supporting these events. Some evening work will be required. Advanced notice will be given.
