Carbonates are complex. No doubt about that. But what is too complex and unpredictable for some people is an opportunity for others. That’s clearly shown by Richmond Energy Partners review of global exploration trends for 2008-12, showing the top 2 best performing conventional oil plays were in carbonates in Brazil and Kurdistan, way ahead of any deepwater clastic play. This one-day seminar is aimed at providing a framework for young professional staff as well as providing a refresher for more experienced staff. Thematic lectures in the morning will be followed by a set of case studies and exercises on North African carbonates, though the material will be relevant to workers on carbonates in all areas.
