PESGB is supporting a UK industry-wide initiative for employees of Natftogaz, the National Oil and Gas Company of Ukraine. We would like to publicise this initiative and bring it to the attention of PESGB Members that are Senior Managers or have close links with (or indeed are) HR professionals in their respective companies. You may be aware of suitable openings, or want to explore the possibilities that this scheme opens up.

The initiative builds on existing relationships between the UK Offshore Energy Industry and Naftogaz Ukraine at both personal and corporate level. The principal support partner from the UK Energy Industry is OEUK (Offshore Energies UK) which has 400+ members.  Naftogaz is the largest state-owned company in Ukraine working across the full spectrum of the energy sector.

Naftogaz has identified a cadre of displaced female employees.  This industry-wide initiative aims to bring these individuals on a temporary employment basis to UK companies under an appropriate visa, such as that provided under the Homes for Ukraine scheme. This scheme allows these individuals to work without restriction anywhere within the United Kingdom. It aims to match an individual with a host company, and with assistance from either the host company or with other local support groups to also match with potential host families. It is the aim of all these employees of Natfogaz to return  to Ukrainewith skills/learnings at the appropriate time.

These employees typically have post-graduate level education and have been working for Naftogaz (or one of its subsidiaries) for periods ranging from months to 10+yrs.  Some have worked for well-known service companies both in Ukraine and overseas.  Their areas of technical specialism are mostly in the Geosciences – Petroleum Engineering, Petrophysics, Geology – with some exceptions e.g., Finance/Commercial.  All are available for travel and the majority would be unaccompanied.

The Scheme is being coordinated by Graham Tiley, who was Shell Country Chair in Ukraine and VP Upstream in Kyiv from 2011-2016. Potential host companies would be invited to meet (virtually) with senior representatives of Naftogaz HR to discuss practical steps and arrange further meetings/interviews with candidates.  Interested companies are requested to contact Graham Tiley at graham.tiley.ua@gmail.com.
