I am standing for the position of Outreach Director on the 2020 Executive Council. I graduated in 1975 and have worked in the oil industry ever since, I became a Chartered Geologist in 1993. In 1983 I joined the Department of Energy now OGA. Between 1983 and 1992 I worked most sectors of the North Sea, between 1992 and 2016 I worked in the Central North Sea looking at the geology and geophysics of this complex and fascinating geological area. I published on the “Shallow Geology and Gas Reserves Potential”, “Lower Cretaceous Sands”, the HPHT of the UKCS and finally on the search for a “Carboniferous petroleum system beneath the Central North Sea”. I retired in September 2016 and became a consultant in October 2016.

I have served on the PESGB council before. In 1998 as 1st Vice President, as President Elect in 1999 and President in 2000, then Past President in 2001. In January 2019 I suggested PESGB formed the Old Timers SIG, despite its name we are open to all who can attend, meeting in the London Offices of PESGB at 11:00 on the third Tuesday of each month, except in December when we meet at PROSPEX. If elected I would like to explore how PESGB develops the Special Interest Groups (SIGs) and Regional Groups (RGs) to serve its members.
