My name is Maria Iredale and I will be taking over from Guy Elliott in the role of Executive Director of the PESGB from January. You will see me at some of the December events so please come and say “hello” as I am looking forward to meeting you all.

The next six months are going to be a massive learning curve for me as I have an arts charity background and my geology/petroleum exploration industry  knowledge is limited (though I am studying furiously). I am going to be working with the PESGB team and Council to make sure our organisation can offer you all you need in these challenging times.

I am relishing the opportunity to learn all about this new industry and I’m excited to see how I can make a positive impact as part the PESGB.

Initially, please feel free to question me on ‘Contemporary Art’ or the British ‘Kitchen Sink’ art movement of the 1950s, but you will have to leave the questions on carbonates and sedimentology for a little while…
