I journeyed to the Museum of London with little disdain for the wet and balmy weather overhead. After all, it was London, and it was winter, or so we were told! This year, the YPs organised a ‘geologically-themed’ photo booth to compliment the evening’s festivities. It was geological for the exhilarating reason that the back drop was dotted with fierce-looking dinosaurs! Uptake was slow at first, perhaps due to patrons simply wanting to first grab a drink and have a chat with friends and colleagues, or perhaps, due to sober inhibitions. However, the booth quickly drew attention and members were queuing to don some questionable fancy dress props and pose for a very memorable polaroid shot (see evidence above). For those lucky to get a take home print of their group shot, please pin it in your office for all to bear witness to! The entertainment aside, the evening was fantastic with plenty of refreshments and the chance to meet up with old friends. We reflected on the roller-coaster of the year gone by and those whom we knew were facing the difficulties of the low oil price. However, despite the seriousness of the economic situation, spirits were high.
