Category: Exhibition, London, Pitch Your Prospect, Prospex

‘Zeta’ is a Palaeocene amplitude supported oil prospect associated with a 4-way dip closure.  Located in a shelfal position at the northern margin of the Witch Ground Graben, ‘Zeta’ is immediately north of the world class Piper field and adjacent to multiple undeveloped Palaeocene discoveries.

The ‘Zeta’ prospect consists of a mapped 4-way dip closure immediately up dip of well 15/12b-2 (1987). This well encouragingly encountered well developed sands with associated oil shows thus confirming an active hydrocarbon migration pathway on the licence.  ‘Zeta’ has gross mid case recoverable resources are 42 MMboe.

The mapped structure is associated with a seismic polarity reversal and dimming which is indicative of hydrocarbons at this depth and geology. This response is also observed in the adjacent Rowallan discovery made by well 15/13-10 (2008), where a ca. 36 m oil column was encountered in the same reservoir sands.

An exploration well is planned to target the Palaeocene ‘Zeta’ prospect to a depth of 1,500m TVDSS.
