The international line-up for this event includes keynote presentations from both CDA and PPDM, as well as 14 other talks that consider aspects of Strategy, Regulation, Technology and Training, as well as a number of relevant case studies.

This conference was been organised in response to the falls in both oil and minerals prices over the last 18 months as well as the extraordinary budget pressures that many exploration companies and geological surveys are now facing, that could place corporate and national collections in peril.

The papers to be presented over the two day conference will highlight some of the different strategies and options available to ensure that our geological assets (physical samples, hard copy and electronic documents, digital data, etc) are preserved, protected and not lost in the resulting downsizing, layoffs, mergers and closures, and what can happen when things go wrong.
