It’s a well-documented fact that good data management is vital to increase productivity and drive down costs – too much time is spent searching, retrieving and checking data. With good DM it is possible to gain deeper insights, automate decision-making processes and maximise resources. In response to this need, the PESGB Data Management SIG was set up in 1999 by Dr Paul Duller and Duncan McKay. The DM SIG continues to be a successful group, with regular conferences and meetings, and links with the Geological Society. There is no additional cost to join the SIG, and membership is open to all PESGB members.
