Young Professionals Special Interest Group: Who are we?Back
Who we are
PESGB YP are the ‘Young Professionals’ formed as a part of the Petroleum Exploration Society of Great Britain (PESGB).
Our aim is to assist the growth and development of early experience professionals within the petroleum industry. We are generally focused on members of the PESGB with 10 years of industry experience or less; we provide a mentoring facility and promote a networking environment for young professionals. As part of our work we look to assist in the career decisions of current undergraduate and postgraduate geoscience students who are contemplating what opportunities are open to them, making them aware of what the petroleum industry can offer and giving them a support network if they decide to join.
With committee’s based both in London and Aberdeen we deliver multiple YP events every year, actively providing opportunities for YPs at the beating heart of the industry.
The committee is made up of the following people:
NATIONAL: Shereen Nairne (GDF Suez) YP Director
LONDON: Amrit Madhoo (Schlumberger), Catherine Caulfield (Hannon Westwood), Holly –Marie Owen (ERC Equipoise), James Harpin (Petrofac), Samuel Eckford (Earthworks- Reservoir),
ABERDEEN: John Waldron (Centrica), Sarah-Jane Flaws (Halliburton), Roy Kittrell
